by Published by the Pipeline Safety Trust and the City of Bellingham  on June 10, 2009
DescriptionOn June 10, 1999 the people of Bellingham learned the hard way that there is a 16 inch pipeline that runs through the middle of the community. The pipeline exploded, ending the lives of three Bellingham youth. once the flames and smoke were gone, the dead buried and the tears dried, Bellingham did something unique in the history of such tragedies.
Residents came together as a community to help those most affected, to heal the creek and land, and to try to make sure no other community has to experience such tragedy. Through successes in these efforts, Bellingham has made great progress in healing.
These pages tell the story of this journey.
